Pyngyn Ask is operated by Vimovi Global Tech Pvt Ltd (“Pyngyn”, “we”). This page explains what we collect when you use pyngyn.com and why, in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What we collect
- Your questions and our answers, to improve answer quality. Before storing, we automatically remove PAN, Aadhaar and GSTIN numbers. Please do not enter client names or other identifying details.
- Feedback you give on answers (helpful / not helpful and any comment).
- A daily anonymous visitor key: a one-way hash of your IP address that changes every day, used only to apply fair-use limits. We do not store your IP address.
- Basic usage analytics (pages viewed, buttons clicked) without advertising trackers.
What stays on your device
Your chat history is saved only in your browser. Use “New chat” or clear site data to remove it.
Documents you attach
A document you attach is read inside your browser and is not uploaded or stored by us. With each question, only the parts relevant to that question are sent to our AI model provider to produce the answer, with PAN, Aadhaar and GSTIN numbers removed first. The document text is not saved in our logs. Avoid attaching documents you are not allowed to share.
Ask a CA (no longer offered)
Pyngyn Ask no longer passes questions to CA firms. If you used “Ask a CA” before it was removed and ticked the consent box, we stored your name, mobile number, email and city (the last two only if you gave them), what described you, and your question with PAN, Aadhaar and GSTIN numbers removed. We shared these with a partner CA firm only so it could contact you about that question. Their advice was a separate, paid service between you and the firm. These details are kept for up to 12 months, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.
Signing in (optional)
Accounts are shared with Pyngyn ClientSpace and are managed by our authentication provider (Supabase), which holds your email address, your password (encrypted) or your Google sign-in. If you sign in, we store your email address and, so your chats appear on your other devices, a copy of your chats (questions, answers and sources). Documents you attach are never synced; they stay on the device where you attached them. Signing out stops syncing on that device; write to us to delete your account and synced chats.
Due-date alerts and the weekly digest
If you sign up, we store your email address and the due dates you chose, and send email through our email provider (Resend). Every email has an unsubscribe link. The calendar link contains no personal data.
Shared answers
When you share an answer, we create a page with the question and the answer (never an attached document). We may publish well-sourced answers in our public library; shared pages contain no information about who asked.
If you message Pyngyn Ask on WhatsApp, Meta delivers your messages to us. We keep the last few messages of the conversation for six hours to answer follow-ups, keyed by a one-way hash of your number, and the question log as above.
Voice typing
If you use the microphone button, your browser turns speech into text using its own speech service (for example Google in Chrome or Microsoft in Edge). We receive only the resulting text, as with a typed question.
Who processes your data
Questions are processed by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) and our AI model provider to generate answers. Some questions, with PAN, Aadhaar and GSTIN removed, are also sent to our search provider (Tavily) to look up recent notifications and circulars on official government websites. If you buy a paid plan, Razorpay processes the payment and receives your email address; we do not see or store your card or bank details. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Retention
Question logs are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted or fully anonymised.
